Kushies Swim Diaper Review and Discount

Kushies is a Canadian company that is the world's largest washable diaper leader (didn't know that until now!)

Kushies sent me a swim diaper to review.  I feel like I've had this diaper forever; I've been waiting to get some "action shots" but as soon as I got it, our weather turned cold, then rainy!

I received the fishy print, which is adorable!  It's a size medium, which should fit 14-25 pounds.

Kushies has gender neutral, prints, boyish prints, girly prints, and this adorable girl swimsuit diaper!

I wish they made some that looked like swim trunks!

Just like their disposable counterparts, Kushies swim diapers are not absorbent, they are designed just to catch any solid waste.

The diaper has an easy Velcro closure, but the tie closure prevents little ones from turning the beach into an "au natural" beach!

The middle of the inner is super soft fabric.

It's lined with a meshy fabric.

It fit wonderfully.

I've never had to put a swim diaper "to the test" so to speak, even in my disposable days.  I don't doubt this would do the job!  As with any swim diaper, don't put it on until you're ready to swim, since they aren't absorbent (as evidenced by the wet towel not visible in this picture, LOL!)

Kushies doesn't just make diapers, they make clothing, accessories, blankets, bedding, toys and more!

They are offering a 10% discount to my readers to use at their store, kushiesonline.  Check out the clearance section for a great deal on the girls swimsuit diapers and some other cute stuff.

Enter code changediapers2010 to receive 10% off your order!

Thank you to Kushies for providing the review diaper, the freebie in no way affected my review.

EcoMom Review, Giveaway and discount/coupon code CLOSED

I was given the opportunity to try some yummy, organic snacks from EcoMom.  They're also sponsoring a giveaway and offering a 15% discount on my readers first purchase.  Enter code SBBL287 at checkout to get 15% off your first order.  (valid through 5/31/10)

Formerly Sprout baby, they're now Eco-Friendly Baby Products - Eco Mom.

Eco-Mom sent me Revolution Foods Jammy Sammies in blueberry flavor and Plum Tots fiddlesticks in apple carrot flavor.

Someone wise recently told me that a company's true customer service is measured by how they handle problems.  EcoMom and I got off to a rocky start when I was sent the wrong blogger's package and caught them in the middle of their website redesign.  Jody at EcoMom responded to me immediately and was very apologetic for the mix-up.  I received my replacement package in the mail just a few days later.  (EcoMom sent me the blueberry flavor, the others pictured are flavors I purchased myself.)

The Jammy Sammies come in lots of different flavors.  We had actually just discovered them a few weeks earlier at our local organic market.

My daughter loves them and I think they're pretty tasty too, I ate an Apple Sammy as I was typing this!

I had never had anything from Plum Organics, the Fiddlesticks were the first.

They look like little breadsticks, but they are softer.  I tried one and they weren't bad.

They make great Cheerio picker-uppers.

My son really enjoyed it.  :-)

My son is 11 months old, but I don't think he's quite ready for these yet.  He likes to shovel things in his mouth, and he was breaking pieces off that were a bit big for him to handle.  My daughter ended up eating the whole rest of the box the same day!

EcoMom sells tons of other organic baby food and snacks, but they sell a whole lot more too.  They have a few cloth diapers, they have bath & body products, toys and books, even green cleaning products.

One thing that makes EcoMom unique is their EcoPass.  A one-year membership costs $99 and gets you 15% off everything they sell and free shipping on every order.  That includes expensive and oversized items like the Boon Flair Pedestal High Chair and organic crib sets.

The 15% off would pay for the membership if you spent $660 over the course of your 1-year membership.  That's $55 per month, which is not hard to spend!

It's definitely a good idea to check their prices on any items you may be interested in.  Their price on the Sammies is higher than my local store, but I'm blessed to have a store with such low prices.  However, my store only has three flavors while EcoMom has a lot more.

I didn't price compare anything else, since I'm not really in the market for anything right now.  As a savvy shopper though, I'd always recommend doing that, since $100 less a 15% discount one place is the same $85 elsewhere.  Just make sure you are including shipping charges and sales tax when you do so!

EcoMom is offering a 15% discount to my readers.  It's good through May 31st, 2010 and is good only on your first order.  Just enter code SBBL287 at checkout.

You can also sign up for EcoMom's Newsletter if you want to know about new products and events.

EcoMom is also giving one lucky winner $20 worth of Plum and / or Revolution Foods!

Inspired by Finn Baltic Amber Jewelry review and giveaway/discount! CLOSED 5/2

Inspired by Finn sells Baltic amber and hazelwood jewelry, including the beautiful teething necklace I was given to review.

The first time I heard "amber teething necklace" I thought people must be nuts.  Then, I learned about the benefits of Baltic amber.  I figured out that no, people weren't allowing their children to chew on jewelry.  When Baltic amber is worn on the skin, the skin’s warmth releases trace amounts of healing oils from the amber. These oils contain succinic acid and are absorbed into the skin.

Read more about the benefits of Baltic amber and check out the available shapes and colors.

I asked Inspired by Finn to choose the shape, color and length of my son's teething necklace for me.

It came in a cute gift box.

All jewelry is lead-free and phthalates-free and it meets all US legislative testing (CPSIA) requirements for children's jewelry.

Each bead is individually knotted and while it isn't "stretchy," it does have a tiny bit of "give" to it.  It will break if pulled, which is good for safety's sake.  Even so, I, personally, did not put the necklace on my son for naps etc.

The necklace has an easy to use, secure closure.

After I took these photos, I tucked the necklace under his shirt, so it was in contact with his skin.

The necklace is absolutely beautiful, and I want one for myself, if only because it is so pretty!

I couldn't resist taking this photo, he gave me the biggest grin when he saw the camera!

My husband says he looks like a hippie, and the cashier at Old Navy thought he was a girl.  My mom said it was because of the necklace, but several weeks ago, a Dad at the park told me he was "too pretty to be a boy" because of his big brown eyes and long lashes, LOL.  I think he looks adorable!

I can't really say whether it has eased his teething pain.  However, since he started teething, he has never really napped.

After wearing the necklace, he napped for an hour and a half!!  So  yeah, I love my Inspired by Finn teething necklace!

Want it?  Buy it.  Use coupon code BLOG68  for 20% off your entire order!

Or, win it!  Inspired by Finn will send the winner of this giveaway one item 16 inches or SMALLER that is in stock.

Note: Inspired by Finn has a Facebook page now.  It would be awesome if you beame a fan, but I can't add an entry option for that this late in the game, since it wouldn't be fair to those who already entered.

I will accept entries until Sunday, May 2nd at 9 P.M. EST.  I'll use random.org's random number generator to choose a winner. Please make sure to leave your email address in your comment if it isn't in your profile.

Thank you to Inspired by Finn for providing the products for the review and giveaway.  The freebie in no way influenced my review.

Edit August 2010:  We stopped using this when my son kept lifting it from under his shirt, over his chin and putting it in his mouth.  I have been wanting to buy a short one but haven't yet!
